May Glossybox Unboxing

If there's one thing I look forward too at the beginning of each month, it's the arrival of my beauty subscription box. Whilst I was previously signed up to  receive Birchbox, I recently decided to mix things up a little bit & see just how good Glossybox is.

Daily Concepts Exfoliating Body Scrubber - £3.85 [x]

For me this box contains the perfect build up to summer products - exfoliators and moisturisers. One particular product I'm very excited to test is one I've seen all over my Instagram feed - the Scrub Love Body Scrub. Claiming to absorb impurities whilst soothing and moisturising, this seems to be the perfect pre-holiday skin treat, especially followed by the Dr Paw Paw Original Balm (which apparently can be used on skin, hair & nails!).  

I'll definitely be putting everything I received this month to use & may even put together a few product reviews to feature here.

Lush's "Shiny Happy People" Gift Box

I wandered into work a few days ago and.. what's this? A surprise seems be waiting on my desk? A Lush shopping bag!
I'll admit that at first I was a little confused & wondered if perhaps someone had accidentally forgotten to pick up their shopping - but then a friend popped over and explained the Lush bag was in fact a belated birthday present!

What better way to brighten up a dull Wednesday morning?!

Once I opened the bag I saw I'd been treated to Lush's "Shiny Happy People" gift box.

The box contains 3 products: 

Bohemian Soap: 
"This is a solid soap with a light citrus scent... A simple but powerful blend of lemon oil and glycerine, with a palm-free soap base. Bohemian is gently cleansing.." 

Happy Hippy Shower Gel: 

"This shower gel bursting with pink grapefruit is just the thing to add some early-morning zest. We squeeze fresh pink grapefruit and add grapefruit & Bergamot essential oils."

Green Fun: 

"This 4-in-1 product can be used as a solid shampoo, bubble bar, soap or even for play. Enjoy making models and shapes out of it & then either break off a small piece & use as a soap or shampoo, or crumble under running water for bubble bath."

There's so much I love about this gift box. To start the wrapping paper is so cheerful & fun.. It almost felt like a shame to open it.. The products also smell so gorgeous and fresh - Perfect now we're *hopefully* starting to say goodbye to winter & hello to all things spring! Finally, I love the ethics that Lush has in regards to things like animal testing. Their cruelty free campaign (which you can read more about here & scrolling to the bottom of the page) always makes buying/using their products have an element of feel good factor about it.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Throughout the blogging and Youtube community I've heard a lot of good things about the Liz Earle brand, and although I was intrigued, it was never something I really looked into.  

However during my trip back to my home-town for Christmas, I noticed a bottle of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser sitting on the bathroom shelf. So I decided to find out what my Mum thought of it. 

Now my mum is the type of person who has always told me honestly what she thinks of something...be it a product, item of clothing, or even the dreaded "do I look like I've put on weight?" question - which (despite the sometimes straight-to-the-point delivery) I've always appreciated. How else would you really know if something looks good or is worth buying?! 

So when my Mum told me how highly she thought of Liz Earle, I knew it must be something that's at least worth a try.

Now I wouldn't ever want to sugar-coat a product that I write about on here, so I want to say out right that the Liz Earle brand is not cheap. For a 100ml bottle of the hot cloth cleanser, you'd be looking at paying around the £15 mark. However I decided that if this was a product that would help keep my skin in great condition - and also help banish those pesky spots that like to pop up at the worst possible times - then it would be worth the money. 

I'm usually a Simple or Nivea girl when it comes to cleansers/face washes, and both brands have never let me down.. But I felt that it was time to mix things up a little and maybe splash out on a little treat for my skin. 

I haven't tried this products out yet as it only arrived in the post today, but I'm very excited to try them out tonight (is that a little sad? Probably but oh well). 

Once I've used this for a while I definitely plan on writing a review on whether it's really worth the price tag, so if you're interested or are on the fence about splashing out that bit extra on face products, watch this space!
